91+ Points - Robert M. Parker, Jr. (The Wine Advocate-December, 2016)
From our Las Cerezas Vineyard in Yountville. A rich and full bodied wine with flavors of dark plum, blueberry, and blackberry. The fruit notes carry right onto the palate - a jammy, soft, and lush wine. It pairs well with a wide assortment of foods and quickly becomes everyone's favorite wine. Aged 18 months in 80% new French oak.
About the vineyard: Las Cerezas is located at the southern end of Yountville, just east of Washington Street. Las Cerezas, Spanish for, "the cherries," was named after the neighboring cherry orchard. These 25 acres lie in the town of Yountville where the climate is moderate, with a definite cooler maritime influence compared to our neighbors up valley. This gorgeous property is located off Hwy 29 and is planted with Merlot, Syrah, Malbec, and Sauvignon Blanc. The soils here are mainly gravelly silt loams, sedimentary in origin and gravelly alluvial soils with rock, moderately fertile.
